Oral Pathology
Oral and Maxillo-Facial Pathology is a field that is concerned with the nature, identification and management of diseases affecting the face, jaws and mouth.
This field includes but is not limited to:
- Developmental/growth defects of the Oral and Maxillo-Facial region
- Bacterial, viral and fungal infections
- Benign and malignant lesions of bone and soft tissue
- Salivary gland diseases
- Oral/Maxillo-Facial manifestations of systemic diseases
- Medication related diseases of the jaws
